Coupa Announces Launch of Open Buy with Amazon Business
Several of our team members here at PayStream attended the the annual Coupa Inspire conference in San Francisco last week, where Coupa made several strategic announcements. The company announced its latest product release as well as the launch of Coupa Open Buy with Amazon Business, which allows customers to search, find and buy goods with their organization’s required spending and budget controls automatically applied.
This launch is good news for Coupa customers and organizations that struggle to get users to adhere to corporate spend policies or use a procurement catalog consistently. We know that in catalogs are not always leveraged to their full potential, especially when users can’t find what they need or data is not up to date. In general, B2B procurement catalogs have lagged behind their B2C counterparts, especially when it comes to user experience, but this launch signals they are gaining ground.
According to the press release, “Coupa Open Buy with Amazon Business gives Coupa users embedded visibility and instant access to millions of items beyond the catalogs managed by their employer. This helps reduce the rate of ‘item not found’ and decreases the likelihood of employees buying outside their organization’s approved processes. In addition, one-time purchase needs (sometimes called “spot buys”) can be handled efficiently by an employee without consuming procurement or accounts payables team resources.”Rate this Post:
